What do you need?

Ingredients (for 4 persons):

  • 1 Baguette
  • 300 grams ground beef
  • 50 grams of grated Cheddar
  • 1 Tomato
  • 2 medium onions
  • 40 grams of iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tablespoons of hamburger sauce
  • Sea salt
  • Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Also required:

Preparation

Light the BBQ and set it to direct heat at a temperature of about 200 degrees.
Meanwhile, finely chop the onions and slice the tomato into thin slices. Cut the baguette in half and trim off the ends.
Set aside the ground beef, iceberg lettuce, hamburger sauce, salt and pepper, and olive oil.

Is the BBQ at the right temperature? If so, pour the olive oil onto the plancha and let it heat up for a moment. Then add the onions and sauté them for about 10 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally.

Then take the onions off the plancha for a moment and place your ground meat on the plancha. Place a piece of parchment paper on top and use the burger smasher to press the ground meat firmly flat on the plancha.

Now remove the parchment paper from the ground meat and sprinkle the meat with sea salt and black pepper.

Meanwhile, cut the half-baguettes open and spread your favorite hamburger sauce on them. Place each half on its own piece of aluminum foil.

Spoon the ground meat, onion, and cheddar onto the buns. Then top the buns with the tomato slices and iceberg lettuce.

Now fold the sandwiches closed tightly and wrap them securely in aluminum foil. Let them sit like this for 5 minutes so the bread softens slightly from the steam. Then serve the chopped cheese sandwiches right away. Enjoy your meal!
