This is how you keep your Grill Fanatics BBQ gear in top condition

Give your gear some extra love

After an intensive BBQ summer, it’s time to give your gear some extra love. Your barbecue has been working overtime, so a thorough maintenance session is definitely not a luxury. In this article, you’ll read exactly how to get your BBQ gear ready for the next season.

Grill grates: the stripe-maker that deserves your respect

A clean grill grate prevents old food residue from interfering with your new creations. On top of that, it extends the lifespan of your grate and helps you keep those irresistible grill marks.

  • Heat is your friend: briefly heat the grate after use so any residue comes loose.
  • Use the right brush: choose a stainless steel grill brush that removes grease and grime efficiently without damaging the grate.
  • Dry thoroughly: prevent rust by making sure the grate is completely dry after scrubbing.

Tips & Tricks

Tools & accessories: from tongs to brushes

Your tools need some attention too if you want to enjoy them for a long time. After each use, it’s important to clean them thoroughly and store them dry.

  • A warm, soapy wash does wonders, especially for silicone or plastic parts.
  • Injectors and brushes: rinse thoroughly immediately after use (including the inside of injectors). Let them dry completely and store them away from moisture.
  • Stainless steel tools: wash thoroughly with a mild dish soap. Then dry well to prevent limescale or stains—and with that, rust.
Cast iron products

Cast iron can last for many years if you take good care of it. Even with our latest coated cast iron products, proper maintenance is still essential. Here are our tips and tricks.

  • Clean your cast iron products with hot water and a soft dish brush. Do not use dish soap.
  • Dry immediately after washing and apply a thin layer of oil to prevent rust. Briefly heat the pan so the oil can soak in.
  • With cast iron, the more you use it, the better the non-stick layer becomes. However, it’s very important to store your pan dry and in a place without large temperature fluctuations. So, an outdoor kitchen is not the best place to store your cast iron.
Final tip!

With these tips, you’ll make sure you can enjoy your BBQ gear for a long time. One more extra tip!

It’s also important to store your charcoal and briquettes in a dry place. Use our Charcoal Box for this! It looks great and helps keep moisture from seeping into your charcoal.

Have fun at your next BBQ session!
