Pulled chicken from the BBQ

Our favourite

Delicious and quick for our office lunch

Pulled chicken is a real flavour bomb, super versatile and perfect for the BBQ. And fair is fair: in our workplace at Grill Fanatics, this dish regularly appears on the table with lunch. Why? Because it is much quicker to prepare then pulled pork. Not low & slow, but hot & fast — and still that delicious smoky flavour. So ideal even on weekdays and for lunch!

  • Rubbing: Place the chicken in an aluminum pan to distribute the BBQ Rub evenly. Sprinkle 30 grams of BBQ Rub Chicken or Overall per kilogram of chicken thighs over the chicken and rub it in well with a silicone brush. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes (longer is fine).
  • Lighting the BBQ: Light the BBQ using Woodwool for long-lasting, even heat. VAdd Black Wattle Charcoal for a stable temperature around 120–130°C. Place the chicken directly on the BBQ grill over the indirect heat, so it cooks without direct contact with the flame.
  • Pull Time!: Use the premium gloves and small tongs to remove the chicken from the BBQ. Place the chicken in a clean aluminum pan to pull it apart, using the meat claws. Want it extra creamy? Toss in some grated cheddar or place cheddar slices on top of the pulled chicken, and put it back on the BBQ briefly to melt the cheese. Delicious!
  • Serve it your way: We love a white bun with coleslaw and a good BBQ sauce. But a (whole grain) wrap with fresh vegetables works just as well. Whatever you like!
